MERILIN PERLI: ESTONIAN MODEL TAKES ON FASHION WEEK.

Estonian model Merilin Perli may only be 17 years old, but she has already walked for some of fashion's biggest designers including Calvin Klein, Chanel and Prada. First making an appearance on the international fashion scene in June 2011 when she modeled Prada's resort collection, Perli has since landed editorials in Dazed & Confused, Lula and Vogue Russia. Though she is still in school, Perli is planning to take on fashion week this February, and we have no doubt that she will take the scene by storm. What's next for this new face? We'll just have to wait and see..

MIXED AND MATCHED.

Tom Binns Brazil colored painted crystal bracelet, Marni tote, Dries Van Noten patchwork dress, Zara patchwork shoes

Sometimes, opposites really do attract. Case in point: this season's mixed and matched, patchwork prints. Reminiscent of a cut-and-paste collage, piecing together unequal parts of color, shape and texture has never been more chic.

IN THE MARKET FOR : 1940'S FLAIR.

1940's attire has officially made a comeback this season and to get inspired, we've taken some hints from one of America's most beloved style icons of the decade, Katharine Hepburn. There's no doubt that designers Ralph Lauren and Miuccia Prada had the screen siren in mind when creating the bold shoulders, cinched waists, pointed collars and pleated skirts seen on many of the fall runways. Though Ms. Hepburn certainly carried herself like a lady back in the day, she was forward-thinking enough to embrace a menswear-inspired look that gave a certain flair-filled attitude to the glamorous 1940's way of dressing, and has continued to influence the fashion world.
SHADES OF STYLE: LOUIS VUITTON SPRING 2012.

A little glitter and gold never hurts, be it fashion or design. And right now we're loving the the hints of yellow, bronze and gold and shimmering crystal accents in this diaphanous dress by Marc Jacobs for the Louis Vuitton spring 2012 ready-to-wear collection. Just like this dress, a little shine can go a long way at home. Consider simliar soft yellows and blues for pillows and upholstery (or even the walls) and balancing it out with silver and gold accessories like lamps and spheres. It's sure to bring a luxurious feel to any space instantly. And if you're already in the holiday spirit, try mixing yellow, silver, gold and blue ornaments on a tree -- it might surprise you how well they all work together.
